Hyères Festival 202540 Years of Talent, Craft, and Creativity

This year, Villa Noailles in Hyères hosted the 40th edition of the International Festival of Fashion, Photography, and Accessories, celebrating 40 years of creativity and innovation, an incredible milestone in the festival’s history. Over three days, emerging designers, photographers, and accessory creators showed us why this festival is still one of the most exciting platforms for new talent.

New leadership, Familiar Energy

With Hugo Lucchino stepping in as the new director, the festival struck a beautiful balance between continuity and renewal. The Villa itself has not been affected by the new art direction, its iconic setting, the thoughtful layout of the exhibitions, and the overall rhythm of the spaces remained just as refined and inspiring as ever. Both the jury and the finalists across all competitions fully met expectations, reaffirming the festival’s reputation for excellence.

This year’s fashion jury, led by Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, brought an extra touch of creativity and charisma. Throughout the event, he delighted guests by signing his signature book and even sketching spontaneous drawings during the prize ceremony, on a lady’s back and on a T-shirt. He also designed the festival’s vibrant sun motif, seen on the giveaway bags, flags, and T-shirts, a joyful symbol of this year’s energy.

Fashion: Playful, Precise, and Personal

Fashion was full of surprises this year, and we were especially proud to work closely with some standout designers. Lucas Emilio Brunner, winner of the Grand Prix Jury Mode, absolutely captivated us with a collection that was both playful and exquisitely refined. We were proud to support him and thrilled to see his collection “ A Bout of Souffle” take home the top prize. His show felt like a joyful celebration of imagination: the way he reinterpreted the concept of the balloon through shapes, textures, and movement was simply breathtaking. We fully trust his vision and can’t wait to see where his imagination will take him next.

LE 19M DES MÉTIERS D’ART 40TH INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF FASHION, PHOTOGRAPHY, AND ACCESSORIES – HYÈRES

Adrien Michel, winner of the 19M des Métiers d’Art, impressed us with his collection “Outdoor Encounters” — a meeting between a sporty, technical wardrobe inspired by the mountains and a contemporary men’s wardrobe, expressed through bold volumes and striking geometries. We were particularly struck by the precision of his craftsmanship and proud to have contributed to his success with a few select pieces.

Elron Dolev, last year’s winner, presented his second collection. We were thrilled seeing how his new collection evolved from his debut was incredibly rewarding. The show conveyed a strong sense of growth and confidence, blending creativity with a refined, personal vision.

Among these two amazing winners, we were particularly struck by two other designers during last Friday night’s fashion show. Our Lebanese designer Youssef Zogheib presented a stunning collection inspired by the armies of the Second World War, featuring well-structured coats with military influences and bold, strong accessories—an impressive vision that earned him the Public Prize.
Vanessa Schreiner impressed with her sustainable vision, with her inventive idea to upcycling of umbrellas into a stylish, wearable women’s collection, a concept that truly stood out, even if it wasn’t recognized by the jury. The runway offered many memorable moments, and we were thrilled to see so much creativity and talent on display.

Photography and Accessories

In photography, while the main prize went to Noémie Ninot we were especially drawn to Yama Ndiaye’s work, which stood out for its sensitivity, visual precision, and strong narrative. His series truly captured our attention and left a lasting impression among the many talented photographers showcased at the festival.

In accessories, sponsored by Hermès, the Grand Prix went to Amaury Darras for his remarkable work in woodcraft, while the Hermès Fashion Accessories Prize was awarded to Luisa Oliveira for her innovative and skillful approach to fashion accessories. The public prize went to Alyssa Cartaut for her inventive cushion shoes. For us, Kays Mass truly stood out, impressing with a collection that perfectly blended memory, concept, and craftsmanship, a thoughtful and inspiring presentation that left a lasting impression.

Shows and Atmosphere

The festival offered a rich mix of experiences across the Villa. On the second night, all finalists from the fashion section presented their collections in a lively runway show, full of energy and creativity. Throughout the Villa, exhibitions and workshops, such as the one hosted by La Cage, provided additional moments for discovery and engagement, offering insight into the work and process of both past and current talents.

Looking Back and Forward

The 40th edition of Hyères once again thrilled us from start to finish. Being part of this vibrant celebration of creativity never lets us down, and we are proud to support and witness the growth of new designers. From the innovative collections to the inspiring energy throughout the Villa, the festival reminded us why we love being part of this journey, and why we will continue to champion emerging talent in the years to come.
