Reflecting on the 38th Hyères Festival: A Celebration of Emerging Talent and Visionary Design
This past October, the 38th edition of the International Festival of Fashion, Photography and Accessories in Hyères took place at the iconic Villa Noailles – and the creative spark it ignited is still going strong. Since its founding in 1986, the festival has built a reputation as the oldest and most respected platforms dedicated to supporting young professionals in the fashion industry. What began as a showcase for emerging fashion designs has evolved into a vibrant and a multidisciplinary event that also highlights young talents in photography and accessories.

From October 12th to 15th, 2023, the festival welcomed an international selection of designers, photographers, and accessory makers. The exhibitions remained open to the public until January 2024, allowing a wide audience to engage with the next generation of creative voices. Alongside runway shows and installations, the festival featured hands-on workshops, talks and performances – all set against the gorgeous backdrop of the French Riviera.
One of the most talked-about highlights was the triple win of Belgian designer Igor Dieryck, who took home the Grand Prix du Jury Premiere Vision, the Le19M Métiers d’Art Prize, and the Public Prize – City of Hyères. His collection, inspired by his experiences in the hotel industry, combined sharp social insights with refined design, impressed both the jury and audience alike.
As always, the festival is not just about recognition – it’s about long-term support. Thanks to its strong network of partners, the selected finalists receive two years of mentorship and practical assistance, from financing and production to legal advice, sourcing, media exposure, and creative residencies. Hyères offers not only a spotlight, but a true launching pad for promising careers.
With its focus on innovation, craftsmanship, and new perspectives, the Hyères Festival continues to be an essential destination for discovering the future of fashion and visual culture. The 38th edition once again proved that future is in bold, thoughtful, and full of promise.
